English for children

English SpeakUp 7–9

For children who already know some basic English and are ready to use the language with increasing independence.

Students develop vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading and writing, with plenty of time devoted to speaking. They take part in conversations, work in pairs and groups, create projects and present their own ideas in English.

The aim is to help every child become a more confident, independent English speaker.

English SpeakUp 9–12

For students with a foundation in English who are ready to develop greater fluency, independence and confidence.

Students take part in conversations and discussions, ask questions, present information, explain their opinions and work on tasks and projects that encourage active use of English.

Less reliance on set phrases. More confidence in expressing their own ideas.

Language development and exam preparation

B2 English Course

This course combines the development of B2/B2+ English skills with preparation for an internationally recognised language examination.

Students strengthen their speaking, reasoning, vocabulary, grammar and writing skills while becoming familiar with exam formats, question types, assessment criteria and effective exam techniques.

Our approach draws on CIS’s experience of international education and its understanding of examination standards and expectations.

C1 English Course

An advanced course for students who want to speak with greater fluency and precision and use English confidently at a high level.

Students develop their ability to construct arguments, understand complex texts, use sophisticated grammar and vocabulary, and adapt their language to different audiences and purposes.

We combine advanced language development with exam preparation, drawing on CIS’s experience of international educational standards.

Which English courses for children does CIS offer in Kraków?

Cracow International School Language & Exam Centre offers English SpeakUp 7–9 and English SpeakUp 9–12, focusing on practical language use, communication and growing confidence. B2/B2+ and C1 courses are also available for older students.

Will my child have plenty of opportunities to speak English?

Yes. All our programmes develop the key language skills, with a particular emphasis on speaking and real communication. Students use English in conversations, discussions, presentations, projects and collaborative activities.

Are classes taught by native English speakers?

Do B2 and C1 courses include exam preparation?

Yes. Students develop their English while learning about exam formats, task types, marking criteria and effective exam strategies. Our approach draws on CIS’s experience in international education and examination standards.

Where do classes take place?

SpeakUp classes are held in person at two central Kraków locations. B2 and C1 classes take place online. We will provide location and timetable details when you enquire.

How often are classes held?

All four courses meet twice a week. Lessons last 60 minutes for SpeakUp 7–9, 75 minutes for SpeakUp 9–12 and 90 minutes for B2 and C1.

Is enrolment open for the second semester of 2026/2027?

Yes. Enrolment is now open. Each course includes 30 sessions, running from late January to late May or early June 2027, depending on the group timetable.

How do I pay for the second semester?

Fees are payable in one instalment: PLN 1,500 for SpeakUp 7–9, PLN 1,950 for SpeakUp 9–12, and PLN 2,250 each for B2 and C1. Members of the CIS and WIS communities are eligible for a 10% discount. Any certified examination fee is additional and is not included in the B2 or C1 course fee.
